From April 17th to April 22nd 2012, the Protest Vendee Pro is the first European event of the ASP Europe Men’s Star. This step takes place from April 19th to 22nd on the wave of Sauzaie Brétignolles-sur-Mer (85 – Vendée) and comes with $ 55,000 in prizemoney.
The title of the 2011 Protest Vendee Pro is held by the l’Angloys Tim Boal (28 years) who rereleased his 2007 feat.
At the opening curtain, April 17th and 18th April, the third edition of Bréti-Girls Pro Junior sees the best young female surfers with the presence of the beautiful Caribbean 2nd winner European Junior, Maud Lecar (19 years), and the title holder of Vendée 2011, the powerful Canaulese Justine Dupont (20 years).

A victory for the torn by Tim Boal 2011

Finishing in fourth place in the ranking of European professional surfing, Tim Boal, twice winner of Vendée (2007-2011), is determined to uphold the rule of “never two without three”. In 2011, during a semi final against his Protest team colleague, the 27 years old German Marlon Lipke, Boal qualified for the final against the valorous Tahitian Alain Riou (27 years old). This final promises the highest level between the two French. L’Angloys remains active in the beginning of the series” starting with moderate waves to quickly score points” he said out of the water. He seeks to widen the difference with Alain Riou who catches him up with a beautiful tube.

“This last maneuver disturbs the plans” adds Tim, but an unexpected wave comes, and he surfs the wave very precisely in an academic way, he continue by linking several maneuvers that appeals to the judges, propelling him into first place. These purposes tacticians’ surfers are side by side in this “man on man” until the last second. L’Angloys turned on the pressure to the Tahitian by pasting in the latest waves before the butting sounds, Tim Boal was crowned once again as the winner of Vendée and tied the victory in Sauzaie held by the “landais” , 22 years old , Joan Duru ( 2009 and 2010) and the 36 years old Reunionese Frédéric Robin ( 2002 and 2003 ).

The Protest Team land in force

With Tim’s victory in 2011 and the accession of the semi finals of Marlon Lipke, The protest team is not left this year. The hot Spanish Basque Jatyr Berasaluce (22 years old) is a local of the “rock” spot and can be formidable opponent for the Sauzaie with “Airs reverse”.

The 24 years old Yannick de Jager loves the Australian and Balinese spots, has a full range of maneuvers that turns it into a real machine points, honoring his nickname “Hunter”, Dutch translation of his name! His Belgium neighbor, Lars Musschoot, 25 years old, holds a wide surfing experience through his several trips to the islands, thanks to his mastery of the “Barrel”, he can be a dangerous opponent in the tubular spot in Sauzaie. This wave asks for a specific skill and knowledge: non-negligible advantage for the local test of Tristan Guilbaud, 21 years old Gillocrucien, who has already created a stir in the past on the spot Brétignollais.

Women set in Sauzaie

The Breti’ Girls PRO JUNIOR, Qualifying EUROPEAN Championship Women’s World Junior Surfing Professional (- 21 years old), runs ahead of the Protest Vendée Pro in April 17th and April 18th 2012. The 2nd champion of Europe Pro Junior Maud Lecar, which is seen snatch the victory last year by the Canaulese Junstine Dupont, hopes to start the season with a blast. But the battle is fierce in the top panel, with a burgeoning women’s surfing and who never failed to shine on the waves of Vendée.
